Geachte leden van de Vaste Kamercommissie van Defensie,
Ons land spant zich in om de democratische beginselen in Oekraïne te verdedigen en bijgevolg de nationale veiligheid te verhogen. Ieder verzoek om hulp uit Oekraïne, op welk gebied dan ook, met het doel de invallers te verslaan mag daarom serieus genomen worden.
Graag wil ik uw aandacht vestigen op het gegeven dat er regelmatig via diverse social-media-kanalen wordt gevraagd om donaties voor de aanschaf van drones. Dit zijn meestal eervolle initiatieven van strijdende Oekraïners, voor wie die drones onmisbaar zijn.
Het niet beschikbaar zijn van dergelijke verkennings- en aanvalsdrones kost veel Oekraïense strijders simpelweg het leven. Dit zijn drones die slechts honderden tot een paar duizend euro kosten.
De grote behoefte aan zulke drones blijft onder de radar van regeringen, terwijl deze drones juist zo’n enorme impact blijken te hebben op het slagveld en relatief nauwelijks iets kosten.
De reden om dit bericht naar u te sturen is een grotere oproep van een pelotonscommandant van de Strijdkrachten van Oekraïne. Het doel van zijn ambitieuze project is om maar liefst zo’n 100 gevechtseenheden te kunnen voorzien van drones. Echter, de praktijk is dat het een lange tijd gaat duren om het geld middels donaties bij elkaar te krijgen. Dat kost niet alleen levens, het draagt ook niet bij tot een zo snel mogelijke oplossing van het conflict.
Daarom is mijn vraag of onze regering in staat is om substantieel hulp te bieden bij dergelijke verzoeken, en zo ja, waar kan deze commandant een verzoek om hulp dan neerleggen?

Dear Members of the Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Defence,
Our country is making efforts to defend democratic principles in Ukraine and consequently increase national security. Any request for assistance from Ukraine, in any field, with the aim of defeating the invaders may therefore be taken seriously.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that donations for the purchase of drones are regularly requested through various social media channels. These are usually honourable initiatives by fighting Ukrainians, for whom those drones are indispensable.
The unavailability of such reconnaissance and attack drones simply costs many Ukrainian fighters their lives. These are drones that cost only hundreds to a few thousand euros.
The great need for such drones remains under the radar of governments, even though these drones have proven to have such a huge impact on the battlefield and cost relatively little.
The reason for sending this message to you is a larger appeal from a platoon commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The goal of his ambitious project is to be able to equip as many as about 100 combat units with drones. However, the reality is that it is going to take a long time to raise the money through donations. This not only costs lives, it also does not contribute to resolving the conflict as quickly as possible.
Therefore, my question is whether our government is able to provide substantial assistance with such requests, and if so, where can this commander put a request for assistance?

Шановні члени Постійного комітету Верховної Ради України з питань оборони,
Наша країна докладає зусиль для захисту демократичних принципів в Україні і, відповідно, для зміцнення національної безпеки. Тому будь-яке прохання про допомогу з боку України, в будь-якій сфері, з метою перемоги над окупантами може бути сприйняте з усією серйозністю.
Звертаю вашу увагу на те, що через різні соціальні мережі регулярно з’являються прохання про пожертви на закупівлю безпілотників. Зазвичай це благородні ініціативи воюючих українців, для яких ці безпілотники просто необхідні.
Відсутність таких розвідувально-ударних безпілотників просто коштує життя багатьом українським бійцям. Це безпілотники, які коштують лише від сотень до кількох тисяч євро.
Величезна потреба в таких безпілотниках залишається поза увагою урядів, незважаючи на те, що ці безпілотники мають величезний вплив на полі бою і коштують відносно небагато.
Причиною надсилання вам цього повідомлення є більш масштабне звернення командира взводу Збройних Сил України. Метою його амбітного проекту є можливість оснастити безпілотниками близько 100 бойових підрозділів. Однак реальність така, що збір коштів через пожертви займе багато часу. Це не тільки коштує життів, але й не сприяє якнайшвидшому вирішенню конфлікту.
Тому моє питання полягає в тому, чи здатен наш уряд надати суттєву допомогу з такими проханнями, і якщо так, то куди цей командир може звернутися з проханням про допомогу?
